THE MIAMI PEDIATRIC NEPHROLOGY SEMINAR (FOUNDED BY JOSE STRAUSS M.D.) IS COMING AGAIN

Dear friends and colleagues:
As many of you know already, this past March we completed a very successful Seminar with over 150 attendees and excellent presentations following the format from previous years. We instituted the Jose Strauss Visiting Professorship Award, which was given to Bernardo Rodriguez-Iturbe M.D.. This time we are happy to invite you to attend the 35th Pediatric Nephrology Seminar which will take place March 6-9, 2008 in beautiful Miami Beach at The Alexander All Suite Ocean Front Resort . The Miami Pediatric Nephrology Seminar is an international gathering of Pediatric and Internal Medicine Nephrologists from all over the United States and the world, sponsored by the University of Miami, Leonard Miller School of Medicine and Jackson Memorial Hospital. This coming year we will have another exciting scientific program with a variety of topics including Sessions devoted to Developmental Origens of Kidney Disease, Cystic/Inherited Kidney Diseases and Obstructive Uropathies, Fluid and Electrolytes Controversies, Hypertension and Chronic Kidney Disease, Bones and Stones, Glomerular Diseases and Vasculitis, and New and Old Challenges in Dialysis and Transplantation. In addition, there will be 2 Workshops: 1)Diagnostic and Therapeutic Challenges and 2)Acute Renal Failure and Dialysis in the ICU and one special Clinico-Pathologic Case Presentation Session. A large number of guest and local faculty will provide expertise and cordial exchanges including several panel discussions and Meet the Professor Luncheons.
In order to facilitate attendance by physicians in training, medical students and young faculty we will continue to provide a limited number of Partial Travel Grants (Applications must be received prior to December 31, 2007).
